Infant Swimming Resource: An Overview
As parents, we are diligent about installing and buckling car seats correctly. We ensure medications and chemicals are locked up and out of reach. We insist on helmets, watch for choking hazards, and discuss stranger danger. But the fact remains that drowning is the NUMBER ONE cause of death in kids under five years old. Let’s start giving that same attention to water safety.
Founded in 1966, ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) is proud to be the nation’s leader in aquatic survival instruction. The ISR program is the most comprehensive drowning prevention program in the world, providing infants and children with the skills necessary to save themselves should they reach the water alone. ISR believes pool fences, supervision, and alarms are essential to a multi-layered approach to drowning prevention. However, children are curious, capable, and have an uncanny ability to overcome obstacles like pool fences; at ISR we take that ability and teach them skills to problem solve in the water. In addition to teaching in-water skills in a loving and gentle environment, ISR lessons build confidence, teach persistence, give children a healthy respect for the water, and provide caregivers with invaluable peace of mind.
Not all swim lessons are created equal. Experience the ISR difference!
